Vermont's Answer to the Chilkoot Trail

The Morgan Horse Farm was first on our agenda today. 

After touring the farm and learning about the equestrian program with the University of Vermont we were off to start hiking again.

Today's hike took us on a re-creation of the Chilkoot trail. We were given our first warning of bear in the area. We came across a woman camping on her own, she told us she has seen bear, so yes, they are in the area. We knew with all our talking and laughing a bear would probably not come near us.  It was a great hike full of beautiful views of a lake with lots of boulders and tree roots to traverse.

 

This turned out to be the only wildlife we saw.

 At the end of the day we returned to our cute little Chipman Inn where the bartender poured a full glass of wine and the cook served a wonderful dinner.
