I Think We are Almost There!

Today it was necessary to be transported to the trail head so being the independent Alaskan women that we are we decided to rent a van and transport ourselves and give ourselves the freedom to go and do what we want.
So we had directions from the inn keeper, we had our gps, and we were off to find the trail. We were told it was about 20 minutes away but we drove and drove and drove taking in all the beautiful scenery. Well we ended up in New York!! Joanne enjoyed the visit having never been there before and will be sure to go back sometime but that is not where the trail is located. Time to regroup!
Next we only got lost twice and had to ask directions, one guy actually drove by our stopped car and just sensed we were lost so backed up and came to our rescue.
Finally we were there, we hiked to the top of a mountain and were rewarded with the most beautiful view of the Champlain Lake and valley below.

After a good day of hiking we checked into the Chipman Inn and met the most interesting Inn owner. She and her son own the inn for the second time, getting it back after the people they sold to were not able to make it work.
